Let’s look at what “Leaky Gut” is and how you develop a food allergy.

Are you familiar with castles at all? Your body is very similar to a castle! How so?

Your body has a great outer wall (your skin) that keeps invaders like bad bacteria & viruses out so they don’t attack your citizens (your cells).

But like every good fortress or castle, there is a weakest link – the castle gate (your mouth).

This gate is always opening & closing to allowing outside peasants in with their produce (food you eat) to feed the citizens (your cells). What normally happens is that the peasants come in, your foot soldiers (stomach acids, enzymes & good bacteria) escort them to the market (your intestines) where the peasants do their business selling their vitamins, energy & nutrients to the resident cells that need them and then when they are done they are escorted back out.

This is where you need to be careful of who you allow into your castle-body.

If you are allowing any ol’ peasant into your castle market with poisoned, processed, fake or altered food, then the food you feed your foot soldiers can harm them if they don’t pick up on it, and can make them sick and weaken the castle’s defense.

The next time that peasant enters the castle your foot soldiers may be too sick to escort them around to the market. As a result, that peasant is then allowed to vandalize, cause riots & damage the castle.

Thieves and pick pockets (parasites) sneak in and are allowed to run rampant causing more damage (resulting in nutritional deficiencies).

The soldiers that are left in your immune system have no idea what is happening or where anything went wrong and blame the vandalism on your resident cells and punish & hurt them instead of the bad guys.

All of this results in “Leaky Gut” and a weakened gut colony. When someone has multiple food sensitivities it can be assumed that they have leaky gut syndrome.

What do you do about it?

First, don’t let the offending food back in. Banish them from your kingdom immediately! You’re the ruler here!

Common Allergens:

  • Gluten: (wheat, rye, barley, & other grains that have been cross-contaminated with gluten)
  • Dairy, lactose
  • Eggs
  • Corn
  • Shellfish
  • Peanuts
  • Soy
  • Sugars: HFCS, including some fruits

Next, you need to start feeding your resident cells and soldiers pure, healthy food to help them get stronger so they can start repopulating. Homemade bone broths are a great for this.

Also, start replenishing your foot soldiers by consuming fermented food, probiotics, prebiotic food and digestive enzymes.

While it is possible to reverse this issue, it is good to keep in mind that your immune system can have a long memory and sometimes it can take up to 2 years for your soldiers to forget an offending food.

Loving patience is needed to heal the situation. However, there are some offending foods that will never change their ways and need to be permanently banished from your kingdom! Awareness is key here. Here is a list of common gut destroyers & bodily enemies that need to be banned permanently:

  • The white stuff like flour & sugar
  • High fructose corn syrups
  • Trans fasts, shortening, refined vegetable oils & margarine.
  • Food additives
  • Artificial sweeteners

Remember, it may not need to be permanent change. Although, there are amazingly delicious alternatives that will blow your taste buds’ minds so you may never want to go back. Trust me.

You and only you can lord over your bodily minions.
